Memorial Day Events in Hawaii:

  • 73rd Annual Mayor’s Memorial Day Ceremony: This event takes place at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu, starting at 8:30 AM. The ceremony includes a color guard, wreath presentations, a firearm salute, and performances by the Sounds of Aloha Chorus​ (Go Visit Hawaii)​​ (Waikīkī Beach Stays)​.
  • Shinnyo Lantern Floating Ceremony: Held at Ala Moana Beach Park from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, this poignant ceremony features thousands of floating lanterns, each representing a memory or prayer for those who have passed​ (Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai‘i)​​ (Department of Defense)​.
  • Governor’s Memorial Day Ceremony: Scheduled for 1 PM at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, this ceremony honors our veterans and their families​ (Department of Defense)​.
