Memorial Day Events in Hawaii:
- 73rd Annual Mayor’s Memorial Day Ceremony: This event takes place at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu, starting at 8:30 AM. The ceremony includes a color guard, wreath presentations, a firearm salute, and performances by the Sounds of Aloha Chorus (Go Visit Hawaii) (Waikīkī Beach Stays).
- Shinnyo Lantern Floating Ceremony: Held at Ala Moana Beach Park from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, this poignant ceremony features thousands of floating lanterns, each representing a memory or prayer for those who have passed (Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai‘i) (Department of Defense).
- Governor’s Memorial Day Ceremony: Scheduled for 1 PM at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, this ceremony honors our veterans and their families (Department of Defense).
